Accessories they can be so overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to pairing them with your vintage attire. So I came up with a little list of my favorite vintage accessories to wear and pair with outfits.
Brooches
These beautiful pins come in all shapes, sizes, colors, some with jewels and other without. They also look classic and can really pull that vintage look together. They can be pinned anywhere; blouses, hats, bags etc. and are a very versatile statement piece.
Bangles
I got into wearing bangles a couple of months ago and I'm pretty much hooked. Every time I visit my local thrift store I'm always searching for a couple new ones to add to my collection. Once again they come in many colors and designs and can add that little pop of color without being crazy bright looking. I find wearing 3 or 4 max on your wrist works well, unless you enjoy that 80's look of wearing 20 or more up your arm ;)
Scarves
I absolutely adore scarves and have way too many for my own good. The great thing about them is they look nice in the winter and the summer. So its an accessory you can certainly wear year round. They can not only be worn around your neck but also tied on your head or tied onto a handbag. The creative possibilities with scarves are endless.
Hats(Wide brimmed, Cloche etc.)
Depending on what kind of era your trying to emulate, there are so many great hats to choose from, and they are awesome for protecting your hairstyle from the wind and rain while looking fabulous! My personal favorite are the cloche hats from the 1920s.
Handbags
Obviously a bag is a just a given when it comes to accessorizing. But finding a good vintage handbag is another, if you happen to find one, snatch it up as you'll have yourself a snazzy accessory for every outfit. My favorite types of vintage handbags are the ones with the snap closures on the top.
That is my little list on accessories, hope my post gave some ideas that were helpful or maybe I opened up some creative inspiration as well.
Have a good weekend!
