Hello!
I've been wanting to write a post like this for awhile now just because Im starting to see a trend with vintage becoming mainstream. There is no point in getting all upset over the topic but it happens to rather annoy me at times. As you might know I've been dressing and living a vintage lifestyle for the past 5 going on 6 years now. Before then vintage wasn't this crazy fad or anything it seemed more like a rare thing. I certainly got stared at alot when I wore my hair in pincurls with some red lipstick and a dress that was old as my grandmother. But I very much enjoy wearing vintage and following its beauty rountines from the 40's. I own jeans and t-shirts but I rarely if ever wear them because I don't feel like myself. Vintage has become a way of expressing myself creatively because Im artistic and thats what I like to do. What annoys me is the fact that it has become so mainstream its slowly dying as something that used to be unique. Everyone is wearing "vintage" nowadays but the problem is people don't read and do their research and that they just assume because a dress has lace and beading on it, its automatically "vintage". I've done countless hours of research, whether it be books, the internet. You name it, and I have probably read it lol. I guess I just get annoyed with the fact that vintage is getting lumped into our modern mainstream world where it becomes the norm. If anything though vintage isn't about wearing old garments, to me its a way of life I have chosen. And Im certainly happy with it.
So enough with the ranting! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I know I did. I ended up getting proposed to by my boyfriend on Christmas day. The day couldn't of been better.
Also I apologize once again for the photos...Blogger is still not letting me resize them to their original size I guess!
Hope your all enjoying your Thursday.

First of all, congrats on the engagement! I agree, vintage has been getting some attention lately, I'm not sure why. I don't see a whole lot of people around my locale dressing vintage, though. But when I do see someone, I smile and think, "oh cool, she's wearing red lipstick" or "are those shoes vintage?" or "look at her dress, it looks 1950's". Most people don't make it an actual lifestyle like we do, or go to the extent we do when dressing vintage. We will always be the ones who started the trend if it really becomes one! :)

Thanks! It was quite the surprise :) I very much agree. I get really excited when I see people who are into vintage too. I just hope it doesn't become too popular among everybody, I feel like vintage has this nostalgic like quality and I would hate to see that disappear.
